Welcome to my ProKeywords.co review. This is not the best keyword tool for SEO, and if you need it for PPC you can use the Google Keyword Planner instead. But let’s look at the reasons why I think this…
Product Name: ProKeywords
Price: $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year
My Rating: Not recommended – there are better alternatives (see below)
What is ProKeywords.Co?
It is an online keyword research tool with the following features:
- Keywords search – enter up to 50 multiple search phrases and get 10,000 keywords back. You can add negative keywords that you don’t want to appear in the results, use a wildcard (*) in your searches, and has a quick search speed.
- Reports – up to 200 reports per day, each containing up to 5,000,000 keywords, and export to Excel, CSV, or text files.
- Words finder – find popular words for your query. Great for finding negative keywords to exclude from your keyword results.
- Niche/ideas finder – this works differently to the standard keyword search. It finds keywords that have at least 1 of the words in your original search term.
Is it the best keyword tool for SEO?
There is one thing that seems to be missing from ProKeywords, and that’s competition. I did a free search for “best keyword tool” and these are the results:
As you can see, the columns it has are:
- Has digit?
- Min length
- Max length
So this seems to be aimed at being used for Pay Per Click adverts because it shows you the price for a paid advert. It doesn’t give any indication of how competitive the keywords are for SEO.
How much does it cost?
You can use it for free for 7 days, then after that, you have a choice between two versions of the paid membership:
- 1 month at $4.99
- 1 year at $49.99
Is there a better alternative?
Well, if you want to find PPC keywords, you can use the Google Keyword Planner which comes free as part of your Google Adwords account.
However, if you are wanting to do keyword research for SEO, Wealthy Affiliate has a keyword tool as part of its membership. These are the results I get from it using the same search term “best keyword tool”:
As you can see, there is a column called “Competition”. If you click “View Result” next to a particular keyword, it shows the competition. In this example I have gone for “keyword suggestion tool”:
Of course, that’s too high. Ideally, I want it to be under 50, or possibly even lower. But what you can do is click the “Dig” link next to one of the keywords and it will drill down and find more specific keywords from that, and hopefully then you can find one with a lower competition which you can target in your SEO campaign. If you don’t, you can try typing in some other variations in the top box and see what it comes out with.
Here is what it came out with when I searched for “best keyword tool for SEO”:
And here is the competition for “best keyword tool for SEO”:
That’s great! So I am definitely going to target that keyword in the post. Oh, wait, I already did!
But hang on, what if you don’t want to sign up to Wealthy Affiliate just to get that keyword tool?
And what if you don’t want to spend time manually clicking “View Competition” for each keyword?
Well, there’s aways Jaaxy…
