So I saw this new product had recently been released called The Lead Generation Wizardy 2.0 (although the image above shows it as being called The Lead Generation Mastery), and I thought I would take a look at it to see whether it is legit or a scam. To be honest, when new products like this come out, I tend to automatically be cautious and bit skeptical, because such a high percentage of them turn out to either be scams or don’t quite live up to their promises.
I think The Lead Generation Wizardry looks quite good from what I can tell at this point. I’m not quite sure why it is called 2.0, though, because it seems to be a completely new product. Maybe that’s just a marketing trick, who knows.
Anyway, so it seems to be all about getting more sales from traffic to your websites, by using retargeting ads and email marketing.
It will teach you how to:
- Create good landing pages.
- Get traffic to those landing pages.
- Create “bribe” offers to lure people in.
- Write emails that your readers will love.
- Plus a lot more…
This all sounds totally legit to me. It doesn’t sound like some silly magic button automated money making software, like many scams advertise themselves as.
But something bothers me about the sales page…
You see, I was curious about the testimonials high up on that page. I did a reverse image search for the first few images, and it turns out that they are stock photos.
So the testimonials are fake, or at least the photos are. This is disappointing.
I can only hope that the owner of The Lead Generation Wizardy is going to take those down once they get a bunch of genuine testimonials they can replace them with.
But I’m also curious about something else…
By searching in Google for site:l-g-m.net affiliates, I came across a page where I could sign up to become an affiliate. So I decided to put my email address in and see what I got sent.
It turns out, I was emailed a link to a special page which showed a bunch of upsells. In case you don’t know what an upsell is, it’s when you pay for a product and then immediately get shown a “One Time Offer” for one or more additional products. It’s a sneaky way of squeezing more money out of people when they are in “buying mode”. Quite a lot more money actually, in the case of The Lead Generation Wizard.
Take a look at what was on that page…
First, there is the main product, which affiliate gets 100% commission on:
Then there is the first upsell:
The second upsell:
And finally the third upsell:
So, as you can see, what you thought was a $9.97 product, turns out to actually cost you:
$9.97 + $27.97 + $27.97 + $55.94
That’s more than 12 TIMES the original price!
You will pay a $27.97 monthly membership fee.
I don’t remember seeing that mentioned on the sales page!
Is The Lead The Lead Generation Wizardry 2.0 a scam?
Well, that really depends on what your definition of a scam is. If you consider it a scam to be tricked into paying over 12 times the price you thought you were going to pay, then yes, it is a scam. Some people don’t think that upsells necessary equals a scam, so it really depends on what your definition of a scam is.
But the bottom line is, you are deceived here twice:
- Once with fake testimonial photos.
- Secondly with being tricked into paying much more than you original thought it cost.
So, even if this system does work, they are deceiving people. People will see that $9.97 price on the sales page, and maybe their spare money can only just stretch to afford that. Then they get hit with all these extra products which they are told they need if they really want to succeed.
So I’m not making a judgement on whether the product itself is legit. I’m just making a judgement on how it is marketed. It is marketed in such a way that brings in the most money for the product owner and their affiliates. And it does this by deceptive means.
I hope you found this mini review of The Lead Generation Wizardry 2.0 helpful. If you want to get in touch, why not post a comment in the comments area below, and I will reply as soon as I can.
