As you have probably already gathered if you have read my other recent posts, I want to know how to build a micro niche website. I am learning as I go, and documenting the whole process in a case study. Here I bring you part 4, where I update you on the site rankings, show you how far I’ve got with content, fill out my sidebar, create a sitemap, and submit my site to Bing. Blow is a link to the training video:
Here is a screenshot from my SERP Lab account:
As you can see, things have changed. Some keywords have gone down, but most have gone up. My main keyword has gone up by 9 positions to 46, from position 55 which it was at last time. This is a very significant improvement, especially so early on in the development of this website. I only set up the website on June 3rd, which is just 24 days ago. It will be interesting to see how the rankings increase further over the next few weeks.
Content Update & Sidebar
I have filled all of the pages in my top menu with content, and have also added a page called “Kids Tablets”. I have also filled out my sidebar with product images that link to their respective pages. I show how I did this in the video, so if you want to know, click here to take a look.
It is important for a website to have an XML sitemap because this shows search engines like Google what pages the website contains. If you have the All in One SEO plugin installed, you can create an XML sitemap with that. I show you how in the training video.
Bing Webmaster Tools
If you thought that it was only Google that mattered, you need to think again. While Google is indeed the most popular search engine, Bing does get a significant share of web users too. Therefore, it is important to sign up to Bing Webmaster Tools and submit your website and its XML sitemap to it. I talk through this in the training video.
I have some very clear plans about what I am going to do next with this website, but you will need to stick around to find out. Hopefully, you will take a look at Part 5 when I release that soon.
All the best,
P.S. I’m now wondering whether I could use Profit Builder to create mini niche sites. What do you think?
