Back in December, I created a new website called Synths and Software. The idea is to draw on my enthusiasm and expertise about making electronic music and hopefully make some Amazon Associates earnings along the way.
So I have been regularly posting content to that site, such as product reviews, tips, advice, etc. But over the past few weeks, I was starting to wonder when that first sale was going to appear.
And here it is:
Okay, so I know that $4 is not much money, but it’s a start, right? And the great thing about affiliate marketing is that is has a delayed, accumulative effect. So that sale is probably due to work I did a couple of months ago, whereas work I am doing now will pay off in the future.
The more great content I add to my website, the more chances there are of it being found in the search results.
And I know that it takes time for a website like that to build up momentum and start to bring in the money. How do I know this? Because that’s exactly what has happened with the very website you are looking at right now.
Yes, it took several months before I started to get many referrals to Wealthy Affiliate from this website. And now it quite consistently rings in referrals. If course, most of them do not upgrade to premium, but sometimes they do.
And what tends to happen is that once people have upgraded to Premium they tend to stick around for a while. Why? Because Wealthy Affiliate is so awesome that they actually WANT to stay.
Why is Wealthy Affiliate so awesome?
Let me list some reasons:
- The best training – take it from me, as someone who has tried various other “make money online” training schemes and guides, there is no other training quite like WA. It’s broken down into several phases, each with 10 lessons. It’s all very step-by-step and at the end of each lesson you have tasks to complete, which means you get to build your business while you learn.
- Oh, it’s also worth noting that, as well as the official training, users often create their own training too. So there is always something new to learn at WA.
- The most supportive community – you are surrounded by other internet entrepreneurs of all levels of experience. You have everyone from complete beginners all the way up to advanced members who have been making money online for years. There is a community vibe of mutual helpfulness, where members answer each others questions and help each other out with problems they might have along the way.
- The best website hosting and support – not only do you get your websites hosted as part of your membership, you also get technical support who are on hand 24 hours a day to fix your website if it breaks. The website hosting also has built in security protection and backup, so you can be assured your sites are safe.
There’s more to Wealthy Affiliate than that, but those are the key benefits for me. And I will tell you right now, if I wasn’t a member of WA, I wouldn’t have made that first sale on my new website. In fact, I probably wouldn’t even have that website in the first place.
And the beautiful thing is…
…I am really into the topic – making electronic music. What could be better than starting to make money from something you’re really into?!
So, if you want to start making money from something you are really interested in or even passionate about, why not give it a go. You can even try it out for free for a week to see if you like it.
